Renowned equine veterinarian Dr. Steve Allday is the developer of LubriSyn™ (sodium hyaluronate), which has been used to support joint health in some of the world’s leading thoroughbred racehorses and other breeds.
His early interest in veterinary medicine was inspired by parents who raised quarter horses on their Maryland horse farm, and by a meeting with renowned lameness expert, Dr. Edwin A. Churchill. Dr. Allday received his doctor of veterinary medicine degree in 1985 from Texas A & M University.
For more than 20 years, Dr. Allday has seen the benefits of using hyaluronic acid (HA) in equine athletes. “I wanted to find a way to keep HA levels consistent for better joint health,” said Dr. Allday. LubriSyn is the result of years of thought and scientific research to develop a product to help maintain healthy joints. “It is better to keep the horse healthy and competitive through a joint health maintenance program than to have downtime once joint damage has progessed” according to Dr. Allday.
